Here is an image of a kitchen in a showroom that I took in Copenhagen. The use of mahogany as countertop and flooring material (and furniture) is very common in Scandinavia. The walls are so elegant, just simple and bare. Of course, what about normal kitchen usage? Good question! I think unless it was some type of durable finish on the walls, it would become stained and spotted over a short period of time.

This is a kitchen about neutrals, the coolness of stainless, especially in one color “block” above the cooktop and the contrast of clean whites and rich wood. I love how the wood surrounds the white cabinetry. (I’d remove the candles, though!) Otherwise, I’d move in here, definitely. (image by Susan)
