Interesting mix of materials in this kitchen - zero storage, but I will assume a few things:
Here is a case where the desired aesthetic completely drove the design of the kitchen and trumped function. No judgment on that - I’d love a sort of fantasy kitchen solely designed around an aesthetic vision - that’s true luxury in one sense. From Rum magazine.
Unknown if this is a Scandinavian design but it certainly has the elements - light, natural flooring and a fabulous, strong, rustic design juxtaposed with another sleek surface, the cabinetry beyond.

One of my most favorite, and very simple images, not even so very well shot. It shows a Scandinavian sensibility. It’s the entrance to an apartment (in my cousin’s building in Copenhagen). We see classic forms combined with natural elements and the cozy yet modern touch of the candle holders, and let’s not forget the rope heart. This is a very Scandinavian vignette and one which I think speaks to so many people. I love this image in all its imperfection (as shot). It clearly says “home” even before the resident walks through the door.
Stainless steel, turquoise planking, barn wood planking, and look at that floor! This is a very warm kitchen. A bit of a clutter issue, but otherwise super charming.

A better look at both sides of the neutral kitchen from 2 previous posts. Isn’t it simple and elegant? I’m crazy about the roll up shade.

This is a must see post on European kitchens, particularly Belgian. Close enough to Scandinavian in some respects, there is lots of inspiration and simple good taste in the images…don’t miss it!
And, more kitchen color inspiration…soft blue/gray kitchen cabinetry with wood countertops as viewed via the very worn areas in the dresser. Light/soft gray walls. Image by Susan
Terrific lighting fixture in the courtyard of the Royal Copenhagen store in Copenhagen. (image by Susan)
I like to be inspired by non-kitchen things…color, shape, form, etc. Here’s a modern take on antique wood (part of a building taken outdoors) and the colors are fantastic, I think. Raspberry and coral, yum! (Image by Susan)
Scandinavian kitchen design has defaulted to a soft modern style for many years, which is now a recent movement in American kitchen design.
I have been an enthusiastic visitor and student of kitchen showrooms during my travels to Copenhagen for at least 20 years and LOVE discovering fresh ideas to take back with me. There are often warm elements used in very modern kitchens in Scandinavia such as wood flooring, sometimes knotty and in wide planks, in a natural finish. (Image by Susan)

Here is one of my favorite looks in the world, a textured wallpaper (to cover flaws in very old plaster walls) that I’ve seen painted in every color of the rainbow in every type of space, residential and commercial, in every style Scandinavian kitchen, but it is particularly effective against the sleek surfaces (image by Flugger)
