Beautiful lighting by &Tradition, displayed at ICFF. Sensuous and understated.
Who doesn’t love old doors? These are on a street in Copenhagen and are flanked by a rose on each side. Of course, there is a modern element - note the wall sconce on the right. Somehow it fits aesthetically.
Doesn’t this look like a dining room in a home rather than in a restaurant? The mix of styles and materials, the accessories and artwork and other elements just look so inviting and UNcontrived compared to so many other restaurants. It’s in a very small Inn on Bornholm, Denmark.

Copenhagen on a cold day
Such richly interesting objects in a window of an antique store on Ravnsborggade in Copenhagen and the reflection adds the perfect touch. I took this picture because I wanted to remember the painting on the left side of the window - a classic modern style.

A favorite outdoor restaurant in the Nyhavn area of Copenhagen. Charm, age, living things, texture and that cozy factor adds warmth on the coldest days.

A dreamy, classic, elegant row of beautiful architecture in Copenhagen. A lovely city view.
The feeling in this restaurant, Kadeau, in Bornholm, Denmark, is warm and cozy, yet light and fresh-that’s often a theme in Scandinavian design. The crisp white furniture and woodwork contrasted with textured soft gray walls and further complemented by warm tones in flooring and furniture, is all about comfort. One piece of artwork, situated next to a coat hanging rack, just feels organic in some way; maybe it’s the form.

A new look from Bolia - Danish tradition updated with new textures and a contrast of cool and warm colors.
Gorgeous Series 7 chairs and leathers for furniture seen in Illums Bolighus in Copenhagen
In my recent trip to Copenhagen, outside the city, I found beautiful vintage tile tables in a thrift shop. I love the earthy, probably 70s tile motifs of these tables and can see this table being refinished for a whole new start as a valued piece of Danish modern furniture.
A beautiful square in Copenhagen. Classic mixture of white, cream, warm beige building facades. January 2013
A walk along a charming street in Copenhagen, January 2013
Simple, elegant design in the Bornholm restaurant, Kadeau, on the sea. White, gray, tan, all light neutrals with touches of charcoal send a message of serenity. Light touches of texture and smooth surfaces add interest.
An alternative pantry - shelving by the Danish manufacturer, Montana. Floating geometry ready to be filled with colorful pantry items.
