Sleek black and white is visually softened by a shelf with decorative objects on it, a window to the outdoors and light fixtures of classic design. Invita showroom Copenhagen.
The Gjerrow chair designed by Scandinavian designer Benjamin Joen Kolstrup is a contrast in form and material. It looks like it has a floating seat - organic in its look and feel and the center light grain is perfect!

Finishes of white and light wood surround black cabinetry to create a clear structure of shapes and forms. The wrap around counters are perfect as they flow into the flooring. The stainless countertop at the sink area ties into the hood, stools and shelves. Cool, bold, graphic adds something fun and colorful.
A simple Scandinavian Christmas, image by Bolig, with little splashes of red and a wonderful little tree.
Jet black and white is supremely minimalistic and should make foods look intensely colorful and attractive. That said, any bit of clutter will be experienced as just that-clutter.
Another view of a summer house in Denmark. I love the simple windows and enveloping natural wood flooring and paneling.
Beautiful strong black wall of storage accented by the warmth of colorful books and a useful ladder. The large round stools are sculptural elements combined with the square table in a light wood that also is a contrast and appears to float.
In this small section of this kitchen, which was a small kitchen within the beautiful Dinesen showroom in Copenhagen, there are surprisingly quite a few elements that say “Scandinavian style” so well.
An abundance of rounded shapes and natural materials combined with light that bathes the surface adds warmth amid an elegant simplicity.
To my eye, this is one elegant kitchen! Simple, modern, a very warm, comforting pattern on the wall, a natural skin rug and the warmth of wood legs on the chairs. The copper lighting fixture is perfect. I feel like I’m looking at a painting.

Wow…what an inspirational, highly personal, kitchen this is. It may not be for everyone, but it surely is one of a kind.

Black and white…modern yet charming…very charming!
A lovely, and very personal, kitchen..via interior63n.blogspot.
What’s Scandinavian about this image from the magazine DesignLiv? The flooring is wide planked wood with a light, natural finish, very common. Walls and ceiling are painted white, very Scandinavian, of course. The windows and beam add an old element, perfectly at home with the clean lines of the cabinetry. The green surface is soft and natural, the black is bold with a strong design statement. And, the trash can stands alone as a beautiful statement of function…very Scandinavian indeed.
