Arrangement on a white wall of mostly Scandinavian artwork (except for one).
A suggestion for artwork in the kitchen - anything goes, including this wonderful, colorful, artwork that I stumbled across in a gallery in Bornholm, Denmark. Go bold and put your “living room” artwork in the kitchen. Make an impact.
Shot through a shop window in Copenhagen-the shop was closed and I always regret not having followed up on purchasing these incredible beautiful Scandinavian classic modern ceramics.
Stunning Ceramics by Charlotte Thorup, made by the artisan in her studio in Denmark
A rich and wonderful antique store and gallery in Bornholm, Denmark, filled with beautiful vintage things and handcrafted pieces of art in various forms. I would have loved to take home that tile mural, but it was extremely heavy. Next time I’ll make it happen. Enjoy the textural beauty!
Lovely modern hand blown glass from http://www.balticseaglass.com/ in Bornholm, Denmark, situated with the sea and sky as a backdrop to illuminate the glass beautifully. What a wonderful place.
A wonderful art gallery in Bornholm, Denmark. Perfectly Scandinavian - light, simple, clean, modern and warm at the same time. I love the feel of this space and I love the artwork too.
Definition of eclectic, of style, of a personal design aesthetic. The chair legs and rug are talking to one another, bringing pattern from the floor to the vertical, then moving toward calm. The turquoise chair is artfully placed. From mialinnman.blogspot.com
I love this dining room for several reasons.
I love its simplicity
I love its eclectic nature, blending old and modern
I love the use of contrast
I love the use of art
I love the sculptural (and rectilinear) shapes and forms

Scandinavia has a rich history in the art of ceramics. Jesper Packness has a wonderful store in Copenhagen, filled with wonderful ceramics. I could not purchase one piece, because I loved everything in the store. Next time, I’ll force myself to decide what to buy. Design a kitchen around a ceramics collection?

Why not?
Modern and tradition playing perfectly well together. A private dining room at the Madklubben restaurant in Copenhagen.
(via cark) Love. This bears mentioning…the white cabinetry blends quietly into the surrounding whiteness. The stars are the social center, the large, warm, table, and the bold, colorful, art. Nice find!
My cousin, Lis’s summer house near the sea, northwest of Copenhagen, in Denmark. Wood, white, color, and more wood. Modern, cozy, warm, fresh, all at once, I think. (images by Susan)
